Tera Powell’s “STAR” Introduces us to 11-year-old- Tera as she navigates some transformational experiences as we journey toward her 13th birthday. At 13, her mother presents her with gifts typically symbolic of maturity and beauty; however, her perspective has shifted toward the intangible value of self.

Written by Hailee Dyer
In “Exit,” writer Hailee Dyer walks us through the story of a young man named Alexander Hall who wakes up in a dream and must navigate through the experiences he is facing. He is challenged by a woman who reminds him of his path as he works tirelessly to publish his first novel, Exit. Will he be successful?
WISDOM IN WEIRD PLACES
Written by Guru Ma
“Wisdom in Weird Places” pulls the audience into an enlightening conversation in an unlikely space. Here, we meet a newly successful entrepreneur on his journey to the top as he comes to understand how he used the Law of attraction to get him there. “Wisdom in Weird Places” is Writer Guru Ma’s funny nod to the universe and how it’s more intelligent than we think.

Pop Up Plays is focused on producing original works from independent artists around the world. We know that it can be hard to find a place for your creations to land. We hope to solve that problem in a creative way that connects you to a new community. We look forward to helping you and the community by sharing your original works.
BRIDGE THE GAP
We understand that Theater is a steady and successful industry. What is important to the AWP team is bridging the gap between the established theater world and the generation coming to innovate that space. We know that new works will be a breath of fresh air, and incorporating the youth is the most valuable way to do so.
STUDENT PROGRAMS
AWP looks forward to partnering with various schools in the DFW area! We look to offer students internship opportunities under AWP. These internship programs, in some cases, transfer to extra credit in the students art classes. This prepares the students to have industry credit before they even get to college.
